You’re Invited! AHA’s 6th Anniversary Party

At Home in Alexandria (AHA) invites the community to a festive anniversary event celebrating our six years of service to the Alexandria community. The anniversary party will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 2-4pm at the Cameron Club located at 200 Cameron Station Blvd in Alexandria. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP online here or call us at 703-231-0824 by May 20.

The theme of the anniversary party will be “Imagine That!” and will showcase our AHA artists and authors in a display of their artwork and other creative products. More than a dozen will be on hand to share their work and speak informally with event attendees.

The featured guest speaker for this event will be Carol Siegel, one of the 2017 recipients of the Annie B Rose Award from the Alexandria Commission on Aging. She is being recognized for her volunteer work at the Adult Day Care Center of Lee Center, where she teaches a variety of art forms to older adults through the Arts for the Aging program. Carol’s artistic resume is as long as her volunteer resume and includes training as an expressive artist, and work in painting, photography, collage, and other media. She’ll describe her own artistic aesthetic and inspirations, as well as share her experience as both artist and art teacher, and the power of art to provide challenge, beauty, therapy and awaken the spirit throughout one’s life.

This event provides community members with an opportunity to meet AHA members, board and staff and learn more about the many services and social events offered by the organization. Please call or email for more information or to RSVP – 703-231-0824 or aha@athomeinalexandria.org.
