NEWS & HAPPENINGS

A Busy Summer!

From TGIF happy hour, to the launch of “What’s In the News,” to a meeting at Upcycle to brainstorm collaborative activities, and more, AHA members, staff and volunteers have had a very busy Summer thus far.

A great group turned out at Upcycle to discuss AHA/Upcycle collaboration.
Highlights
AHA welcomes new ideas and we were very pleased when Brenda Bloch-Young introduced “What’s in the News” as an informal, roundtable discussion group. All ideas are respected and welcome, and good conversation ensued at the inaugural meeting in June and the second session in July. Please watch the calendar for future meetings and join in.

The great folks at Upcycle Creative Reuse Center, located in the Durant Arts Center, welcomed AHA staff and volunteers to a meeting in June to discuss their ongoing programs and ways in which AHA might collaborate with them. Certainly anyone who has excess art supplies or items that can be creatively repurposed is welcome to drop them off at the Center. We are now sharing information about UpCycle events on our Facebook page and look forward to working with them to offer an artistic outlet for our members.

Happy Hour, Ladies Night Out, Dine Around and Lunch Around continue to be popular social activities for our members. Watch the calendar and plan to attend an upcoming event.  New members — This is a great way to get to know fellow members and learn more about AHA.
